News Alarm allows you to listen to the latest from your favorite podcast feeds as alarms.
Perfect for those who travel but want to keep up to date with the news across the world.
Also includes podcasts in other genres, such as comedy, business, music, movies, factual, from the BBC, Guardian, NPR, Financial Times, The Bugle, The Art of Manliness, Freakonomics Radio, Dan Carlin and Joe Rogan.
News Alarm will automatically find and download the latest podcast in your chosen podcast RSS feed shortly before the alarm sounds, and then play it to you.
Either set a time of day for your alarm or tell it to wake you up in n hours for those with changing schedules.
Permissions explained:
- Uses Internet access in order to download the podcasts.
- The app needs to access network state in order to detect whether you are on mobile data connection when you have elected to download podcasts via WiFi only.
- Runs at startup in order that active alarms are not forgotten when you restart your device.
- Checks phone status in order to pause and continue playing podcast after you receive a call. Does not check identity.
- The app wakes the phone from sleep in order to download and keep the podcast playing.
