By doing an early warning score - EWS can be estimated whether a patient is vital threatened.
The outcome of the score can be a reason to start the emergency intervention Protocol.
If the patient's situation becomes life -threatening, then there is the possibility to call up the emergency intervention team - or the pediatrician on duty.
The communication that you have to carry on the patient's situation must take place in a structured way via the SBARR method: Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation and Repeat-Back.
